Yangmingshan National Forest Park

Yangmingshan National Forest Park is a large forest reserve situated between Guilin, the Xiao River, Mount Heng, and Yongzhou in northeastern Shuangpai County. The grounds are characterized by forested slopes and contain several historic structures including an ancient temple.

The area served as the site of an important military gathering of commanders in 1945. Subsequently, the grounds received protected nature area designation at the provincial level in 1982.

The Wanshou Temple within the grounds draws visitors seeking spiritual moments in a serene setting with traditional architecture. The temple reflects how local devotion to Buddhism has shaped the landscape over time.

The park is easily accessible for hiking through its forested trails, which offer varying difficulty levels. Visitors should bring weather-appropriate clothing since the region experiences frequent rainfall and cooler temperatures.

Several memorials throughout the grounds mark locations where Red Army leaders conducted military operations during the 1930s. These commemorative sites reveal the strategic importance of the area during a turbulent chapter of Chinese history.
