Universal Beijing Resort, Entertainment complex in Wenjing Subdistrict, Beijing, China
Universal Beijing Resort is an amusement park in Tongzhou district that spreads across seven themed zones with 21 rides and attractions. The complex includes four roller coasters, several hotels, and a water-based ride arranged throughout the different areas.
Work on this project started in October 2016 after years of planning and site preparation. The resort opened its gates to visitors in September 2021, becoming the third Universal location in Asia.
The resort combines Hollywood franchises with areas designed for Chinese audiences, such as a section dedicated to Kung Fu Panda where Eastern and Western storytelling meet. Visitors experience films and characters reimagined within architectural styles and themes that resonate with local traditions.
The subway station named Universal Resort provides direct access to the complex, making the journey from central Beijing straightforward. Several bus routes also stop nearby, giving visitors multiple public transit options for reaching the site.
The hotel on site offers rooms themed around Minion characters, where guests stay surrounded by designs featuring Kevin, Stuart, Phil, and Bob. These character-based interiors create a playful lodging experience that extends the park atmosphere into overnight accommodation.
