The Spitzberg extends over eight kilometers from Tübingen to Wurmlinger Kapellenberg, reaching an elevation of 474.4 meters above sea level.
Archaeological excavations on Spitzberg revealed one of the earliest human settlements in the Tübingen region, dating back to approximately 12,000 BC.
The southern slopes of Spitzberg contain historic vineyard terraces with sandstone walls that were maintained by monasteries, parishes, and chaplaincies.
Multiple marked trails lead through the protected landscape of Spitzberg, connecting the old town of Tübingen with the Wurmlinger Chapel.
The mountain slopes house 2,000 thermophilic plant species and 4,000 animal species, including 88 different types of snails in this protected environment.
