Wildeshausen

Wildeshausen is a district capital in Oldenburg that spreads along the Hunte River and serves as the administrative hub for the region. The town center features a historic marketplace surrounded by merchant houses and traditional architecture that defines its character.

Following the Peace of Westphalia in 1648, the town came under Swedish rule and was granted to a member of the royal family. This period shaped the town's political structure for generations to come.
