Handewitt, Administrative municipality in Schleswig-Flensburg, Germany.

The municipality of Handewitt extends over 77.73 square kilometers of land, situated 7 kilometers west of Flensburg near the Danish border.

In March 2008, the administrative district underwent restructuring when the municipalities of Handewitt and Jarplund-Weding merged into a single municipal entity.

The local handball team SG Flensburg-Handewitt represents the municipality in national and international competitions, securing multiple German championships.

The municipality contains eleven distinct localities, including Ellund, Gottrupel, Handewittfeld, and Haurup, connected by an efficient road network.

The Scandinavian Park, opened in 2006, occupies 125,000 square meters and functions as a commercial center targeting customers from Nordic countries.
