Kemptner Hütte, Alpine club hut in Oberstdorf, Germany.

The Kemptner Hütte stands on grassy slopes between 2,200 and 2,300 metres in the Allgäu Alps, below rocky peaks reaching 2,428 metres. Built in 1891 and rebuilt with a new east wing in 1930, it has up to 290 overnight places, including 100 beds and 190 summer places, plus 26 winter places. It lies on the E5 long-distance trail between Oberstdorf and the Memminger Hütte, at the start of the Heilbronner Weg to the Rappenseehütte.

Built in 1891 by the Allgäu-Kempten section of the DÖAV, it was the 34th hut of the Northern Eastern Alps and has been run as a managed hut since 1893. The 1891 building was demolished in 1930 and replaced by a new east wing; a barracks annex and outbuilding followed in 1925, and a winter room in 1954. A material cable car came in 1969, modernised in 2000, and an extension was added in 2020.

The hut is run by the Allgäu-Kempten section of the German Alpine Club, which has operated it since 1893. It lies on the European long-distance trail E5 between Oberstdorf and the Memminger Hütte, and on the approach to the Heilbronner Weg to the Rappenseehütte, so through-hikers on these routes pass and often stay the night.

The hut is best reached during summer and early autumn when trails are snow-free and conditions are stable. During this time, advance booking is wise as accommodation fills quickly in good weather.
