Kemptner Hütte

The Kemptner Hütte stands at 1844 meters elevation in the Allgäu Alps, serving as a crucial intersection for the Steinbock route and E5 European long-distance path.

The German Alpine Association established this mountain shelter in 1891, marking the beginning of organized alpine tourism in the Allgäu region.

The Braxmair family maintains traditional mountain hospitality through two generations, preparing daily fresh regional products and homemade cakes for visitors.

The facility provides accommodation for 290 people, distributed between mattress dormitories and shared rooms, with different rates for alpine club members and regular visitors.

Numerous marmots inhabit the fertile grounds surrounding the hut, making it a natural observation point for alpine wildlife in their mountain habitat.
