Wellersberg

Wellersberg is a summit near Siegen that rises to about 350 meters and is part of the Slate Mountains landscape in this area. The mountain sits between local communities and shapes the rolling terrain that visitors see when traveling through the region.

The mountain was mined during the 19th century with operations such as the Friedrichshoffnung and Eisenberg mines that helped drive industrial development in the region. This mining activity shaped the economic history of Siegen at that time.

The Hermelsbach Cemetery occupies the western slope while the DRK Children's Hospital resides on the eastern side of the mountain.

You can reach the mountain via the L562 road, also known as Freudenberger Straße, which connects the communities of Freudenberg and Siegen. The area is easy to explore on foot, with several walking paths that wind through forests and grasslands.

The undeveloped summit offers open views across the landscape without being blocked by buildings. A cemetery sits on the western slope while a children's hospital occupies the eastern side, showing how different parts of the mountain serve the local community.
