The three-story brick villa features symmetrical architecture with traditional elements and large windows across its main facade on Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse.
Richard Merländer, a Jewish silk merchant, commissioned the villa's construction in 1924 before being forced to sell it during Nazi persecution in 1941.
The NS Documentation Center within the villa presents exhibitions and educational programs about National Socialism's impact on Krefeld's community.
Visitors can access the villa Wednesday mornings, Thursday afternoons, and Sunday afternoons to explore its historical exhibits and architectural features.
The villa contains the only surviving wall paintings by expressionist artist Heinrich Campendonk, discovered during renovation work in the 1990s.
