The facility represented a modern approach to public recreation in 1920s Berlin, accommodating up to 10,000 daily visitors with swimming and sports activities.
The warm pool utilized excess heat from the adjacent Klingenberg power plant, maintaining comfortable water temperatures throughout the swimming season.
The complex included a 26,000-square-meter sand beach area that replicated the experience of visiting the Baltic Sea within Berlin's city limits.
