St. Albani stands as a three-aisled Gothic hall church on the eastern edge of Göttingen's town center, featuring high vaulted ceilings and stone architecture.
The construction of the current church structure began in 1423, replacing an earlier building that served the village of Gutingi since its first mention in 953.
The church houses a valuable altarpiece created by Hans von Geismar in 1499, along with medieval Seccomal paintings from around 1470 adorning its walls.
Three designated parking spaces at Albaniplatz and multiple bus routes including 50, 71, 72, and 150 provide convenient access to the church location.
The bronze bells of St. Albani, cast in 2018, produce distinct tones that ring across Göttingen during religious services and special occasions.
