Wenzeln-Berg, Mountain summit in Langenfeld, Germany
The Wenzeln-Berg reaches an elevation of 111.5 meters and stands as part of the remaining Sandberge near Leichlingen in North Rhine-Westphalia.
In April 1945, seventy-one men were executed by National Socialist forces at Wenzelnberg, leading to the establishment of a memorial site in Solingen-Ohligs.
Five cities - Langenfeld, Leverkusen, Remscheid, Solingen, and Wuppertal - organize annual ceremonies at the Wenzelnberg memorial with German Trade Union Confederation participation.
A 7-kilometer running route circles the mountain, starting from Wanderparkplatz Bergische Landstraße and passing through varied terrain including forest paths and gravel sections.
Since 1909, the mountain summit has contained a water reservoir that maintains pressure in the municipal water supply system of Langenfeld.
