Wenzeln-Berg

Wenzeln-Berg is a hill in Langenfeld that reaches approximately 112 meters in elevation. Today the site features a memorial that reflects its historical significance and draws visitors from the surrounding area.

In April 1945, 71 people were executed at this location by Nazi forces. This tragedy led to the establishment of a memorial that commemorates those who lost their lives.

The hill is accessible via several routes and can be circled on a longer walking path. Access is available from the parking area on Bergische Landstraße, and the route passes through forest trails and various terrain types.

Since 1909, a water reservoir has been located at the summit, serving the municipal water system. This hidden infrastructure shows how the hill has served practical purposes for more than a century.
