Kaiser-Friedrich-Turm, Observation tower in Vallendar, Germany.
The Kaiser-Friedrich-Turm is a steel observation structure located on Mallendarer Berg at approximately 180 meters above sea level. The construction stands 25 meters tall and provides views of the surrounding landscape from its upper platform.
The tower was commissioned in 1899 by the Vallendar Traffic and Beautification Association and built by Hilgers steel company from Rheinbrohl. The structure underwent extensive renovation work in the late 1980s.
The tower was named to honor German Emperor Friedrich III. This naming connects the location to European royal history of the 1800s.
Reaching the observation platform requires climbing about 80 steps to the top. During wet seasons the climb can be challenging, so visitors should wear sturdy footwear.
The location on a hilltop makes it a landmark in the landscape. Its position allows far-reaching views across the region in multiple directions.
