The Late Gothic town hall features a high hipped roof, six towers, and detailed sandstone carvings representing emperors and biblical scenes on its facade.
The Peace of Westphalia, ending the Thirty Years' War, was negotiated and signed at this location in 1648, marking a turning point in European relations.
The Peace Hall displays 42 portraits of rulers and envoys who participated in the negotiations, along with a ceiling chandelier from the 16th century.
The building opens Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM.
A 500-year-old entrance door includes a bronze handle marked with '1648' and displays a dove symbol representing the historic peace treaty.
