Scheinberg-Spitz, Alpine summit in Ettaler Forst, Germany

Scheinberg-Spitz is a mountain summit in the Ammergauer Alps with a distinctive cross at its peak, reaching nearly 1,930 meters high. The panoramic views from the top extend across the Ester Mountains, Lechtaler Alps, and Allgäu Alps.

The summit lies within Naturpark Ammergauer Alpen, a protected area created to safeguard the natural geological formations of the Bavarian Alps. The peak has long served as a destination for local hikers and climbers.

Local hiking communities regularly organize guided expeditions to the summit cross, fostering connections between experienced mountaineers and newcomers to alpine climbing.

The hike from Graswangtal parking area takes roughly two to three hours on well-marked trails with steady elevation gain. Proper hiking boots and weather awareness are necessary, especially as you approach the exposed summit area.

The peak attracts alpine researchers due to its distinctive winter snow conditions that enable specialized climate observations. These characteristics make the location valuable for scientific monitoring of mountain weather patterns.
