Sender Waldburg, Radio transmitter station in Baden-Württemberg, Germany
Sender Waldburg is a broadcasting facility on a forested hill near the L325 road between Schlier and Vogt in Baden-Württemberg. The installation uses a 73-meter steel lattice mast to transmit radio signals across the region.
The current installation was built between 2003 and 2004 to replace an older guyed steel mast that previously stood on the same site. This upgrade improved broadcasting capacity for the Upper Swabian region.
The facility broadcasts multiple radio programs including SWR4 Baden-Württemberg and SWR2, serving communities across Upper Swabia, Lake Constance, and Allgäu regions.
The facility is easily visible from the nearby L325 road and sits in a forested area that is straightforward to reach. Keep in mind this is an active broadcasting station, so public access to the site itself may be restricted.
The equipment building is located roughly 150 meters northwest of the antenna mast, an arrangement that differs from typical radio broadcasting setups. This spacing allows for specific safety and operational distances between the antenna and the control areas.
