Spreedreieck

Spreedreieck is a modern office building in Berlin-Mitte situated between the Spree River and Friedrichstrasse. Its distinctive triangular form shapes the exterior, with retail spaces on the ground floor and office areas stacked above.

The building was completed in 2009, transforming a formerly unused site into an active commercial and office hub. Its completion followed an intensive design process needed to work with the challenging triangular shape.

The name refers to the triangular shape created by the river and two streets that define the site. Visitors notice how this geometry shapes the entire look and feel of the building.

The building is centrally located and easily accessible by public transit, making it straightforward to reach the retail spaces on the lower level. Visitors should note that the interior courtyard is limited and the triangular shape creates narrow passages in some areas.

The building was specifically designed to accommodate the river's curve, an unusual approach for an office structure of that era. This adaptive architecture demonstrates how contemporary design can respond to geographic constraints.
