Weilsberg

Weilsberg is a mountain in the Taunus region with an elevation of about 701 meters, located within Schmitten im Taunus. It ranks among the highest peaks in the area and commands views across surrounding hills and valleys.

A former ski jump facility built on the mountain's slopes marks the region's role in winter sports during the past century. This jump connected the peak to the neighboring Reifenberger Wiesen and was part of local sporting heritage.

The mountain stands as a testament to German outdoor recreation traditions, with numerous established hiking paths connecting neighboring peaks and settlements.

Visitors can start from a parking area near Rotes Kreuz and reach the summit by direct hiking routes or take longer circular paths across neighboring peaks. The trails are clearly marked and offer various difficulty levels depending on which route you choose.

The dense forests covering the slopes create different hiking conditions throughout the seasons and notably change the natural environment. Wildlife and plant life vary greatly depending on elevation and time of year, which observant visitors often notice during their walks.
