Wildpark Neuhaus

Wildpark Neuhaus spreads across 50 hectares of natural terrain within the Naturpark Solling-Vogler and displays native animals in spacious enclosures. A 2.5-kilometer circular path connects different sections and allows visitors to view all the inhabitants.

The park was established in 1962 on grounds where 16th-century royal horse stables once stood. Remains of these old stables including former paddocks and dry stone walls can still be seen today.

The park hosts regular bird of prey flight demonstrations where visitors can watch hunting techniques up close. These shows offer insights into local raptor species and their natural role in the ecosystem.

The park is best explored on foot, and sturdy footwear is recommended since terrain varies across different sections. There are adequate rest areas, and facilities are concentrated near the entrance, so plan for a leisurely visit.

An 18th-century oak avenue forms the main pathway through the park and was planted under the supervision of forest officials. These old trees give the walk a distinctive character and tell a story of earlier times.
