Wildpark Potzberg

Wildpark Potzberg is a 25-hectare wildlife park located in Föckelberg that holds deer species, wild boar, moose, mouflons, and horses in large open enclosures. The facility also maintains a collection of birds of prey and owls, along with domestic animals in a separate section.

The park was established to exhibit native wildlife in natural-like habitats and to promote conservation awareness among visitors. Over recent years, the facility has participated in species recovery efforts, including the release of owls and other birds back into the wild.

The bird of prey demonstrations reveal how eagles, falcons, and other raptors move and hunt in flight, with shows performed daily for visitors to watch. You can see how handlers work closely with the animals and understand their natural behaviors through these live performances.

The park is open daily and accessible to all visitors, with parking available for cars and buses throughout the grounds. The walking paths are well-maintained and easy to navigate, with regular feeding times and demonstrations scheduled throughout the day.

A bald eagle named Hera performs low-altitude flights directly above spectators during special shows, creating an intense experience for the audience. This type of demonstration is rare and demonstrates the strong bond between handler and bird.
