Yberg

Yberg is a forested mountain near Baden-Baden that rises to about 514 meters at its summit. Medieval castle ruins stand on its ridge, surrounded by dense woodland.

The castle was built in the early 13th century as a medieval fortress. Later conflicts damaged the structure, leaving behind the ruins visible today.

The name comes from the medieval castle that once stood here, which visitors can still explore today. People naturally gather on the plateau above to rest and take in the views.

Several marked trails lead from Baden-Baden to the summit, with some sections climbing steeply. The hike is manageable for average hikers, and the path through the forest is easy to follow.

From the castle ruins at the top, views stretch across the Rhine Valley and nearby mountain peaks in ways that reveal the region's landscape variety. This perspective shows how the terrain changes across the broader area.
