Grimmwelt Kassel

Grimmwelt Kassel is a museum building dedicated to the work of the Brothers Grimm and combines modern architecture with open exhibition spaces. The building features large glass walls and concrete surfaces along with a spacious rooftop terrace overlooking the city.

The museum opened in 2015 to preserve and present the manuscripts of the German Dictionary and Children's and Household Tales by the Brothers Grimm. The collections document decades of intensive linguistic and literary work from the 19th century.

The space is named after the famous Brothers Grimm and reveals how their work shaped the way people understand language and storytelling. Visitors see here how fairy tales and linguistic research are deeply rooted in German tradition.

Access to the building is level and offers good orientation through clear signage in multiple languages. The spaces are bright and open, making navigation easier and allowing visitors with different mobility needs to explore the exhibition.

Visitors can see the Brothers Grimm's personal working copies where they wrote their own notes and revisions. These hand-marked copies reveal the creative process behind their famous publications and offer insight into their daily work practice.
