Radio Barth, Electronics store building in central Stuttgart, Germany
Radio Barth was a commercial building in central Stuttgart featuring a distinctive concrete facade typical of 1960s design. The structure housed one of Württemberg's oldest music specialty stores across multiple levels with retail features characteristic of that era.
The building was constructed between 1964 and 1966 according to architect Paul Stohrer's designs and served as retail space. After the original music store closed in 1995, the site was later replaced by a modern office and commercial complex.
After the music store closed in 1995, the space transformed into Radio-Bar and became a meeting point for hip-hop artists and music lovers in Stuttgart.
The site is now occupied by City Plaza, a modern complex in downtown Stuttgart, and can be visited during regular business hours. The location is well served by public transport and within walking distance of other city attractions.
The legacy of this place was preserved through a documentary audio play called Lebensgefühl im Waschbeton, produced by radio station Dasding in 2009. This recording captures memories of when the building was a living center of music culture.
