Palazzo Pompei, Contemporary residential building in Potsdam, Germany
The Palazzo Pompei stands along Alte Fahrt street featuring a reconstructed sandstone facade with seven column axes and a rustic base level.
Friedrich the Great commissioned the construction in 1754, taking inspiration from the Italian Palazzo Pompei in Verona, but the original structure was destroyed in 1945.
The building combines Italian Renaissance architectural elements with modern German construction methods, incorporating both historical and contemporary design principles.
The complex contains 23 luxury apartments equipped with marble flooring, oak parquet, and elevators, with prices starting at 5,200 euros per square meter.
Three of the seven original mascarons from the pre-war building were integrated into the new facade, distinguishable by their darker coloration.
