Titan RT, Pedestrian suspension bridge at Rappbode Dam, Germany
Titan RT is a pedestrian suspension bridge spanning the Rappbode reservoir in Germany, reaching 483 meters in length and sitting 100 meters above the water surface. The walkway consists of steel mesh held by four main support cables.
Planning began three years before construction started in November 2016, with the opening taking place in May 2017. The structure was built as an addition to the existing Rappbode Dam from the 1950s.
Visitors walk on steel mesh while experiencing typical German dam landscape where the structure spans between two communities across a deep valley. The name combines
The bridge opens daily from early morning until late evening and offers an unobstructed view over the valley. Visitors should wear windproof clothing and can access the entry points on both sides of the valley.
The anchoring in slate rock formations on both shores requires 947 tons of tension force to securely hold the construction in the air. This massive force distributes evenly across both valley sides and gives the bridge its stability.
