Columbarium, Heritage monument tower in Cochem, Germany.
The three-story Columbarium stands as a solid structure built from Greywacke quarry stone, featuring a natural slate pyramid roof and a symbolic golden hand.
Carl Joseph Friedrichs commissioned the tower's construction between 1889 and 1890 after returning from the Montana Gold Rush with substantial wealth.
The building includes a distinctive Mahnhand sculpture measuring 1.05 meters tall, originally placed as a reminder regarding an unpaid loan of 10,000 dollars.
Located at Oberer Weg 9, the tower underwent a complete restoration in 2019, including the installation of a new pyramid roof at a cost of 30,000 euros.
A life-size Carrara marble statue of Christ was discovered inside the tower in 1928 and later transferred to St. Remaclus Church's War Memorial Chapel.
