Fort Patience

Fort Patience is a stone structure located on a peninsula in Apam with two service yards, kitchens, and an Orange Hall used for formal gatherings. The walls and internal layout reflect how European traders organized their coastal outposts.

The King of Acron requested the Dutch West India Company to build this fort in 1697 between the Fante and Agona kingdoms. It later grew from a simple trading lodge into a fortified structure with defensive bastions and administrative functions.

The fort served as a meeting place where European traders and local people conducted business and maintained relationships. Visitors can sense how these daily interactions shaped the region's identity and memory.
