Drama Bridge

Drama Bridge is a stone aqueduct with multiple arches that spans across the landscape, connecting the villages of Nikiforos and Karyafiton in northern Greece. The structure was built originally to carry water from the mountains into local communities.

The structure was built in the late 18th century as part of a water management system in the Paranesti region. It shows how important water supply was for the development and survival of these mountain communities.

The bridge appears in Turkish folk songs as Drama Köprüsü, connected to stories about Debreli Hasan, a historical figure from local tales. These songs remain part of regional culture today, showing how the structure lives in people's imaginations.

The aqueduct is located in Paranesti Municipality in northern Greece and can be reached via local roads in the area. It is best visited in good weather, when the surroundings are clearly visible and safe paths allow for exploration.
