Ammouliani, Island destination in Chalkidiki, Greece.
Ammouliani is an island located between the Sithonia and Athos peninsulas in Chalkidiki, featuring several long sandy beaches with clear water. The landscape is flat, and most buildings sit near the waterfront or close to Limani harbor.
The island began as a small fishing village and remains the only inhabited island in Central Macedonia. Over decades, it gradually developed from a remote settlement into a place where locals and visitors coexist.
The tavernas at Limani harbor feature whitewashed buildings with blue doors and shutters, typical of the Aegean region. Visitors and locals gather here to eat fresh fish and seafood prepared simply, straight from the daily catch.
To reach the island, ferries depart from the mainland, mainly during warmer months. The crossing takes only a few minutes, and it helps to arrive early for the ferry, especially during busy periods.
Near the island lie several uninhabited islets that visitors can reach by boat, offering quiet swimming spots away from crowds. These smaller islands are little-known and allow people to enjoy the water almost completely alone.
