Agiou Panteleimonos monastery

The monastery features an octagonal central church with multiple domes, constructed between 1812 and 1821 using Russian architectural elements and designs.

The monastery traces its origins to 1001, initially established at Paleomonastiro location before moving to its current site following a fire in the 13th century.

The monastery library preserves 1,064 manuscript codices and 25,000 volumes of books, documenting centuries of Orthodox Christian scholarship and traditions.

The monastery accommodates 130 monks across its main complex and dependencies, maintaining daily religious services and traditional monastic activities.

The monastery bell tower, built in 1893, houses a 13-ton main bell with an 8.71-meter circumference, accompanied by 32 additional bells.
