Pic de Saint-Barthélemy, Mountain peak in Ariège, France.

The Pic de Saint-Barthélemy rises to 2348 meters in the Tabe massif, presenting extensive views across the surrounding Pyrenean mountains.

The mountain gained recognition in 1609 when King Henry IV's historiographer, P. Olhagaray, declared it the highest point in the Pyrenees.

The paths leading to Pic de Saint-Barthélemy pass by the former Porteille quarries, which reflect the region's industrial heritage.

The ascent from Montségur follows a 15.1-kilometer trail with an elevation gain of 1117 meters, requiring approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes.

From December to May, the mountain's snow-covered slopes create optimal conditions for snowshoe hiking through the Pyrenean landscape.
