Hohneck, Mountain summit and free flight site in Vosges, France

The granite peak of Hohneck rises to an elevation of 1,363 meters, making it the third highest summit in the Vosges mountain range.

Before the construction of the Col de la Schlucht road in the 19th century, Hohneck served as the main route connecting Gérardmer and Munster.

A mountain tramway operated from Gérardmer to Hohneck between 1897 and 1939, reflecting the early development of mountain tourism in France.

The Route des Crêtes provides vehicle access near the summit, while numerous marked trails offer hiking options to reach the mountain peak.

From the summit, visitors can observe the Black Forest, Jura Mountains, sections of the Swiss Alps, and Mont Blanc during clear weather conditions.
