Crêt du Poulet

Crêt du Poulet is a mountain summit in the Belledonne range located at about 1600 meters elevation. From the top, you can see across a wide area of the Alps and surrounding mountain landscapes.

The summit formed through natural geological processes over millions of years. The Belledonne range today shows the shape of this long Alpine history.

Local mountaineers gather at Crêt du Poulet refuge to share experiences and maintain the traditions of Alpine hiking and winter sports.

The walk starts from Foyer de Ski de Fond du Barioz and takes about 6 hours for the round trip. It is a demanding path, so bring good hiking shoes and plenty of water.

Near a small shelter at the top stands an orientation table with the names of surrounding peaks. It helps you identify the different mountains visible in the distance.
