Ensemble Poirel, Concert hall and arts centre in Nancy, France
Ensemble Poirel is a performance and exhibition space in central Nancy comprising two main areas: a concert hall with 883 seats and an art gallery. The hall features two seating levels with an orchestra section below and balcony seating above.
The building opened in 1889 following a generous donation from Victor and Lisinka Poirel. Designed by architect Albert Jasson, it has remained a cultural hub for the city ever since.
The venue is named after the Poirel family, whose support made its creation possible. Performances and exhibitions here draw people from across Nancy who come to experience music, theater, and contemporary art together.
The venue is accessible from Nancy's city center and accommodates visitors with varying mobility needs. Check the schedule in advance to see what performances or exhibitions coincide with your visit.
The hall's ceiling features a striking glass artwork by Charles Champigneulle depicting an allegorical scene of painting. Few visitors notice this overhead detail, though it is among the venue's most distinctive design elements.
