Gaumont-Palace, former cinema in Paris, France
Gaumont-Palace was a movie theater in Paris located in the Grandes-Carrières neighborhood. The building no longer stands, but it once operated as one of Europe's largest cinemas.
The cinema was built in the early 20th century and became a symbol of entertainment culture for Paris's working-class neighborhoods. It was eventually demolished and removed from the cityscape.
Since the building no longer exists, visitors can only see an empty site today. A walk through the area still shows the working-class neighborhood that once surrounded this cinema.
