Jardin d'altitude du Haut Chitelet, Alpine botanical garden near Hohneck peak in Vosges, France.

Located at 1220 meters elevation on the Route des Crêtes, the garden spans 11 hectares featuring over 2300 plant varieties from mountainous regions worldwide.

Professor Camille Brunotte established the original garden in 1903 with 120 species, but World War I destroyed it before its reconstruction started in 1965.

The garden maintains collections from major French mountain ranges including the Alps, Jura, and Pyrénées, presenting regional botanical diversity through organized geographical sections.

The garden opens daily from June 1st to September 30th, with admission fees and guided tours available for visitors to explore the alpine plant collections.

A restored peat bog within the garden features a dedicated walkway, allowing visitors to observe this specific mountain ecosystem and its specialized flora.
