Parc bordelais, Urban park in Bordeaux, France

Parc Bordelais is a large urban park in Bordeaux featuring expansive lawns, tree-lined pathways, and a lake for water recreation. The grounds include picnic areas, open spaces for relaxation, and recreational zones distributed throughout the park.

The park was designed by landscape architect Eugène Bühler in 1885 and opened to the public 3 years later as a modern recreational space. Its creation reflected the growing movement to bring green spaces into urban centers during that period.

The Guignol Guerin puppet theater offers traditional French performances for children, providing visitors with a form of family entertainment rooted in local theatrical customs.

The park is accessible daily, with entry points at multiple locations, making it easy to start your visit from different areas. Bring comfortable walking shoes, as pathways connect various sections and can require some strolling to explore the full grounds.

The park harbors a small farm with traditional local animal breeds that many visitors pass by without noticing. Within the grounds sits a protected grove of ancient oaks, remnants from a much older natural landscape.
