Triangle, Glass skyscraper in 15th arrondissement, France
Triangle is a skyscraper under construction along avenue Ernest-Renan in the Saint-Lambert district of Paris's 15th arrondissement, between two parts of the Parc des Expositions de la Porte de Versailles. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, it is a 180-metre glass pyramid with a trapezoidal base about 200 metres long, 35 metres wide at the base and 16 metres at the top, rising 44 floors. It will hold offices, a hotel, shops, conference rooms, a large atrium and a panoramic restaurant.
The project faced initial rejection from Paris City Council in 2014 but gained approval after a second vote in June 2015. This reversal reflected changing attitudes about modern construction in the city.
The tower represents a shift in how Paris incorporates contemporary design into its urban landscape. It stands as a visible marker of the city's evolution toward modern development alongside its historic character.
The building features photovoltaic panels on its south-facing side that generate power while reducing energy consumption. It is well-connected by public transportation and located in a neighborhood with shops and dining options nearby.
The tower's trapezoidal footprint measures about 200 metres long at the base, 35 metres wide at the base and 16 metres at the top. Its construction was entrusted to the Belgian firm BESIX, which also built the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
