The Theatre Auditorium of Poitiers is a modern performance complex with two main halls of different sizes, one seating around 1,000 people and the other around 720. The building includes rehearsal rooms, dressing areas, and several foyers that serve both performers and audiences.
The TAP opened in September 2008, designed by the Portuguese architect João Luís Carrilho da Graça. It replaced the city's former theatre on the place du Maréchal-Leclerc, a building dating from 1954. The new venue carries the Scène nationale label.
