Eve, Bronze sculpture in Tuileries Garden, France

Eve is a bronze sculpture by French sculptor Auguste Rodin depicting a female figure with crossed arms and bowed head in a contemplative stance. The work measures about 72 centimeters tall and shows fine details in the body's curves and facial expression.

The original was created by Rodin in 1881 and belongs to his ambitious project The Gates of Hell. A bronze cast was made in 1899 and has since been placed in various collections and public spaces.

The sculpture portrays the biblical figure Eva after the moment of temptation, reflecting themes of guilt and human awareness. You can see this emotional state expressed through her posture and the way her body seems to retreat inward.

The sculpture is located in Tuileries Garden and is easily accessible via the main paths, especially near the Musée de l'Orangerie. Visitors can view the statue from various angles depending on their route through the garden.

Two Italian models, Anna Abruzzezzi and Carmen Visconti, both claimed to have posed for this particular Rodin sculpture. These competing claims have remained part of the work's mysterious history to this day.
