Cime de la Recoude, Alpine summit in Arves Massif, France
Cime de la Recoude is a rocky alpine peak in the Arves Massif with an elevation of approximately 2,800 meters, surrounded by steep slopes and alpine meadows. The mountain sits within the Ecrins National Park area and forms part of a dramatic ridge with neighboring summits.
The region attracted mountaineers starting in the late 1800s who explored and documented climbing routes on the surrounding peaks. These early expeditions established the paths that climbers still follow to reach this summit.
Shepherds use the surrounding alpine meadows to graze their flocks during the warmer months, a practice that has shaped the landscape for generations. This pastoral tradition remains visible in how the grasslands are managed and used throughout the summer season.
