Musée Escoffier de l'Art Culinaire, Museum in Villeneuve-Loubet, France

The Musée Escoffier de l'Art Culinaire is a museum housed in the 18th-century Provencal birthplace of chef Auguste Escoffier in Villeneuve-Loubet, a village between Nice and Cannes. Several rooms display old kitchen tools, a collection of historical menus, sugar and chocolate sculptures, and a Provencal kitchen garden.

Auguste Escoffier was born in this house in 1846 and went on to reshape modern French cooking, becoming known across Europe for his work in grand hotels. The museum was founded in 1966 by one of his disciples, Joseph Donon, and is now run by the Fondation Auguste Escoffier.

During summer months, visitors can taste Pêche Melba, the dessert Escoffier created in honor of Australian soprano Nellie Melba. This tasting brings one of his most famous recipes to life in the very house where he grew up.

The museum is open year-round in the heart of the old village of Villeneuve-Loubet, which is easy to reach by car with free parking nearby. The building is accessible for wheelchair users and has a magnetic loop at reception for visitors with hearing difficulties.

The museum holds the "Maisons des Illustres" label awarded by the French Ministry of Culture, a recognition reserved for places closely tied to major figures of French history. It is also the only museum in France dedicated entirely to culinary art.
