Guria

Guria is an administrative region in western Georgia along the Black Sea coast, with mountainous terrain mixed with fertile valleys. The landscape supports agriculture and is centered around Ozurgeti, which serves as the main administrative hub.

This was once an independent principality before coming under Russian control in the early 1800s. That period marked a significant turning point in the region's development.
