Tsutskhvati Cave is a natural limestone formation in the Imereti region featuring multiple levels connected by spacious passages. The main tunnel stretches through the cave system with varying widths and heights throughout its interior.
The cave shows evidence of human activity from the Stone Age with tools from ancient periods. Later structures from the medieval period also developed here, indicating prolonged use over many millennia.
The eleventh floor houses primitive ritual objects, including systematically arranged animal bones and teeth from ancient sacrificial ceremonies.
The cave is reachable from the nearby city of Kutaisi by road. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear and come prepared for uneven ground inside.
