The Kutaisi State Historical Museum contains over 230,000 items spread across ten exhibition spaces on two floors of a former bank building.
The museum, established in 1921, preserves artifacts from Western Georgia dating from the 9th century BC through the late medieval period.
The collection includes ancient Georgian goldsmith works, metalwork, ceramics, textiles, and religious items rescued from regional churches during Soviet occupation.
The museum opens daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with entrance fees of 3 GEL for adults, 2 GEL for students, and 1 GEL for children.
The Gold Treasury hall, renovated in 2005, displays rare artifacts connecting Georgian history with Roman, Byzantine, and Oriental civilizations.
