Botniaring Racing Circuit, race track in Finland
Botniaring is a motorsport racing circuit in Kurikka, Finland, with a total length of 4014 meters on an asphalt surface. The layout combines long straight sections with tight corners, and the track hosts events for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles.
The circuit opened in 1989 and gradually established itself as a regular venue in the Finnish motorsport calendar. In 2013, a longer track layout was added, giving drivers access to faster and more open sections of the course.
The name Botniaring refers to the Bothnian region of northern Finland, giving the circuit a clear local identity. On race days, people from nearby towns gather around the paddock area, making the event feel more like a community meeting than a professional competition.
Race events take place mainly on weekends, and those are the best days to visit if you want to see the track in use. Arriving early gives you time to find a good spot near the paddock before the action starts.
Although the circuit is known for car and motorcycle events, it also regularly hosts bicycle races, which is unusual for a permanent asphalt track of this type. This makes it one of the few venues in Finland where cyclists compete on a dedicated racing surface.
