Cascade Centar, Commercial structure in Zagreb, Croatia.
Cascade Centar is a commercial structure in central Zagreb spanning three floors with roughly 12,000 square meters of space. The complex features multiple terraces and a transparent roof design that shapes how light and space flow through it.
The building opened in 2009 as a shopping center during the European financial crisis. In 2015 it underwent significant transformation when it converted into a hotel.
The building occupies land leased from the Archdiocese of Zagreb, showing how commercial spaces and religious property owners coexist in the city. This arrangement reflects a pattern common in Zagreb's center where secular business sits alongside institutional presence.
The location sits roughly 500 meters north of Zagreb's main square between Tkalčićeva and Mikloušićeva streets. Underground parking is available with enough spaces to accommodate most visitors.
The building takes its name from four cascading terraces that create an unusual architectural feature. The upper two levels are shielded by semi-transparent coverings, which gives the structure its distinctive look.
