Papaya, Dance club at Zrce Beach, Croatia

Papaya is an open-air club on Zrće Beach on the island of Pag, with several pools, several bars and an open-air dance floor. Since 2007 the site has held up to 3500 people, and in 2014 it gained its round-roofed stage.

Papaya opened in 2002 as a beach bar with a pool, where afternoon after-pool parties took hold. International DJs were first booked from 2005, and in 2007 the site was enlarged to hold up to 3500 people. Since 2013 it has served as the main floor of the Sonus Festival, and in 2014 the round-roofed stage was installed.

Since 2013 it has served as the main floor of the Sonus Festival, which it hosts together with the neighbouring clubs Kalypso, Noa and Aquarius. The programme covers electro-house and big-room EDM as well as trance, techno and hip-hop.

The venue opens its doors in the afternoon with beach parties starting at 4 PM. The best time to visit is during the warm months when the beach is in full swing.

The round-roofed stage that defines Papaya's silhouette was installed in 2014. Since 2013 the club has served as the main floor of the Sonus Festival, which it hosts together with the neighbouring clubs Kalypso, Noa and Aquarius on Zrće Beach.
