Tiszavasvári, Administrative division in Eastern Hungary.
Tiszavasvári is an administrative division located in the Northern Great Plain region within Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county in Eastern Hungary. The settlement sits in flat terrain characteristic of this agricultural area.
The settlement was formed in 1941 through the merger of two earlier communities, Tiszabűd and Szentmihály. After a brief separation period from 1946 to 1950, it achieved its final unified structure.
The town received its current name in 1952 to honor Pál Vasvári, a writer involved in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848. This naming reflects how the community preserves its historical identity.
When visiting, keep in mind this is a rural area most suited to those passing through or with local connections. Navigation is straightforward given the flat, manageable layout of the region.
The region maintains partnerships with four Romanian towns across the border, illustrating how communities create connections beyond administrative boundaries. These cross-border relationships shape the area's broader regional identity.
