Solymár Cave, Cave system in Solymár, Hungary

The Solymári-ördöglyuk extends through 5,550 meters of underground passages and reaches depths of 78 meters in the Budai Mountains.

Initial geological exploration began in 1868 by Antal Koch, leading to extensive research between 1929 and 1943 by the Hungarian Cave Research Society.

Researchers discovered Neolithic pottery fragments and fossilized remains of prehistoric animals, including a complete moose skeleton within the cave chambers.

Visitors can access the cave through marked hiking trails from Solymár or Nagykovácsi, with the journey taking approximately 30 minutes from nearby bus stops.

The cave features three distinct entrances, including the main eastern-facing opening and two smaller passages named Pipa and Rókalyuk.
