Vadlán Hole, Natural cave in Nagygörbő, Hungary
Vadlán Hole is a cave in Nagygörbő that cuts through basalt rock formations for approximately 24 meters. Inside, multiple chambers connect through a main passage, with one section featuring a lower floor area.
The cave formed through erosion of softer rock layers beneath the basalt columns of Kovácsi-hegy. During World War II and the Rákosi era afterward, local farmers used it as storage for their harvested crops.
A regional tale describes a wealthy farmer's daughter who arranged a meeting between her impoverished partner and hidden soldiers, leading to his capture.
The entrance requires basic caving gear and a light source. A marked trail from Tolnay Kúria park in Nagygörbő leads to the opening.
Located within the basalt columns of Kovácsi-hegy, this cave formed through the erosion of softer underlying rock layers, creating natural chambers and passages.
